Longyou Xiaoxitan Water Control Project is an important project built by its own advantages.
As a major project built by the ZWCEPC's advantage, Xiaoxitan Water Control Project is located in Longyou County, mid-stream of the Qiantang River with a dam catchment area of over 10,462 square kilometers and an annual average runoff of 11.68 billion cubic meters. Mainly working for power generation and taking into account comprehensive development such as shipping, the engineering design standard is for 50-year flood event and for 100-year check flood event. The reservoir normal impounded level is 40m with a power station installed capacity of 4*4,500 kW and a total investment of RMB 325 million.
The project started in February 2004, impounded in July 2006 and started to generate power in September 2006. After construction, its average annual generating capacity will be 74.78 million kWh, regarding as a great improvement to the water environment and irrigation conditions. With obvious social and economic benefits, it has great significance to promote social and economic development of Longyou County.
